Dr Valentina Noacco holds a PhD in Water Quality Modelling from the University of Bristol. Following her PhD, she spent five years as a Senior Research Associate and Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the same university, where her work centred on transferring state-of-the-art methods, software tools, and expertise in uncertainty and sensitivity analysis to the re/insurance and catastrophe modelling industry.
She is still an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Bristol. Currently, she is the Chief Uncertainty Officer at Maximum Information, an independent risk intelligence provider dedicated to developing catastrophe risk analytic tools and launching collaborative projects aimed at improving our understanding of catastrophe and climate risk. In her current role, she oversees the innovation division of the venture.
As an Associate Research Fellow of the CGFI, she collaborates with researchers in Flagship 5 on financial risk, specifically focusing on constructing High Impact Low Likelihood scenarios and linking them to re/insurance end-points.
