Marcin is a Research Associate in Climate Financial Risk at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group. His research focuses on financial stability, financial intermediation, and climate finance. Recently, his main area of interest is the role of banks in the transition to a low-carbon economy and the financial impacts of transition and physical risks. His current projects concentrate on the effects of carbon pricing on firms’ financial conditions, the interplay between banks’ financial vulnerabilities and environmental risk, and the role of ESG disclosure in market discipline.

Prior to joining the University of Oxford, Marcin was a visiting scholar at New York University Stern School of Business and a post-doc at the University of Cape Town. He has ten years of experience as a financial economist at the National Bank of Poland (NBP) and the European Central Bank (ECB), where he conducted empirical policy-oriented research on systemic risk in the financial sector, including climate-related financial risks and macroprudential and climate stress-testing.

He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Gdansk. His doctoral thesis won the competition for the best doctoral thesis, awarded by the President of the National Bank of Poland.
